G-Force Consulting Incorporated was founded by Gary Gustafson in 2005.
Gary was employed by Polaris Industries from 1992 to 2003. While at Polaris he was the Project Leader for Electrical Engineering in the ATV Division. Gary developed the entire electrical system for the first and second Polaris Ranger platforms including the electric fuel pump, switches, gauges, wire harness and lighting. He was instrumental in Polaris ATV wire harness designs, and developed numerous electrical components such as Polaris’ 2nd-generation electronic speedometer manufactured by Siemens VDO. Gary also created a process to digitally document hose, wire and cable routes on ATVs that became a company standard. An avid ATV enthusiast, Gary spoke at several legislative and DNR hearings pertaining to ATV trail access on public lands and led many group ATV rides for the company.
Gary left Polaris ro join Arctic Cat’s Snowmobile Division as the Group Leader for Electrical Engineering. During his tenure at Cat he personally led development of the Remote Start system for the T-660 Touring models, and was instrumental in his team’s development of the first 2-way radio/satellite radio systems ever on a production snowmobile. Gary and co. developed new handlebar controls that incorporated multiple industry firsts such as integrated 2-way radio capabilities. Gary and team also implemented Arctic’s first digital photo documentation of hose, wire and cable routes. The new process helped to reduce routing-related quality problems by over 90% on the M-Series snowmobiles in comparison to the release of the "Firecat" line of snowmobiles. Gary personally spent over a year on development of the electronics for the 2007 Arctic Cat snowmobile lineup. The 2007 Arctic Cats incorporate perhaps the best push-button forward-reverse shifting ever used on a snowmobile. Gary was successful in substantially increasing the charging system output on Cat’s new and current 2-stroke engines. Gary developed an entire family of electronic control units that incorporated automotive voltage regulation technology, have built-in diagnostic capability and ensure that the transmission shifting is safe and reliable. Gary pushed the 2007 Arctic Cats into utilizing hall-effect speed switch technology, and upgrading the headlight output from previous models. Last, but not least, Gary taught about electrical systems at Cat's service school.
He has two United States Patents----#7,002,454 and #7,278,511 with several pending. He is a frequently-published author, a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, and a member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association.
