BATTERY-LESS SNOWMOBILE PRODUCTS
Power-to-weight ratio is everything to die-hard snowmobilers. That is why electric-start models only comprise approximately 25% of snowmobiles sold. Having no battery on a snowmobile has been a major hindrance to the addition of electronics on sleds, but those days are changing. Many electronic components can now be added to snowmobiles, even those without a battery.
Historically, most snowmobile charging systems were developed to support 2 things--lights and warmers. Advances in technology and advances in snowmobile charging systems have made many battery-less functions possible. With knowledge of load management, current draw optimization, magneto charging systems and other parameters, it is surprising what kind of electrical possibilities there are on today's snowmobiles.
